If you think about the position someone like Mr Jacobs was in, then you have students running around saying "Mr Jacobs said this or that" about particular people, and that really is not good in my opinion. I feel you should really have a natural instinct for these things, and even being 'nosey' could show someone may not fully appreciate his position.
