The BEST parade tune I've ever played or taught was the early 20th century march titled "Sing As We Go".
In case y'all are wondering, that march is the one that was adopted by Monty Python, who used it for the opening of their show at the Hollywood Bowl. Somewhere, there's somebody watching a parade home video at grandma's house and is just rolling on the floor.
heh heh.... as our band director said when we convinced him to use it, "Sometimes inside jokes are a good thing."
