Who is this guy? One of the criteria that any top company checks before settling in a sommunity is the quality of the arts scene there. Obviously he has no idea about the strides professional musicians have made in the last 50 years at bettering themselves in their jobs by the process of collective bargaining. If it were up to people like him we musicians, who are making a living at it, would be part-timers waiting on tables and playing in mediocre orchestras for the love of it. The overall quality of symphonic music in this country wouldn't even come close to what it is today. Wake up and smell the coffee, join the union or at least support the cause.
