Jason, why not do what you'd pay a brass technician to do? Tear a flannel or soft cotton cloth (old towels are good) into strips. Apply silver polish (assuming your instrument is silverplate) using an aerosol spray like Hagerty's. Poke the ends of the cloth strips through each space with a popsicle stick or some other non-scratching tool. Run them around and through to polish. It's called ragging and is a miserable job, but there's no special trick involved.
