I agree with the good comments about the jupiter 582's. I purchased two for my school after playing the instrument at two separate clinics. The ease of obtaining BBb down to CCC was amazing for the price of the instrument. The open wraps help make this possible, no matter what mouthpiece I used.

My only caution about the instrument is that the wraps are exposed to damage because of their placement. I have not had one damaged, (I threaten to harm all of my tuba players, and we use the DEG tuba rests when playing), but you can see the exposure of the slides to the outside instead of being inside the larger bends.

I love the instruments for high school players who need a 4/4 horn with a bigger sound.

I spent around $2500 apiece with case.
