I sell the Werils. If you cut loose, Werils can really "rat" on FFF low notes. Like ANY 3/4, they don't offer a "beautiful and resonant umbrella of volumnous low frequency bliss" on those very low notes, but they surely do solidly pop right out.
Most 3/4's have "rat" FFF low notes, but sound pretty on the low notes at forte and below. Find other criteria (intonation, fit & finish, etc.) for comparison. This particular one shouldn't be of much concern.
