A former teacher of mine had a recording of A.J. performing the Vaughan Williams with orchestral accompaniment(I can't remember if it was LSO or CSO). There were some problems with the orchestra when it was recorded, though, and as a result, the final recording was done on take 8 or 9. At this point(and it's obvisous in the recording), AJ was just burned out, and his performance suffered greatly. I guess even the greatest musicians have their "off" moments. I don't know where to find this recording, my teacher had it on a cassette.
For a great recording of the RVW though, I suggest the Fletch recording with the LSO, it's incredible!
