The turnover of tubas here is so slow, and so many buyers go to the factories to buy, that it is hard to find stock instruments to test.

My interest for the Courtois comes:

A: from the respect competent repairmen express toward the craftmanship of the products.

B: from the rumours of sound and intonation in band circles.

C: from the bore being larger than that of the Besson 994, which I liked very much, but which was too light in sound for me.

Sorry for not being able to be more precise, but my chances to test this Courtois model have not been better than yours. The Danish importer promised to calculate a price offer for me, but never came back. Probably because the initial price idea he hadd given me would be surpassed grossly.

In the mean time I have opted for more US based solutions, which in turn have limited my financial basis for a continued Courtois hunting for a few years.
