I recommend that you not cry over spilled money. (Whatever happened, happened. Go ahead and fix it.)
If an area of the bell that is about four inches long is folded over with a straight-line crease parallel to the bell rim (typical), a good repairman can tap your rim back straight with a rawhide mallet and use a stainless steel highly polished (rolling-pin-looking) dent roller to smooth out the crease...a job that takes but a few minutes. His rolling tool will only leave very light scratches in your lacquer or silver plating, and the crease line (if like what I described) will barely show, but be smooth.
