Mine is number 100072, and was selected for my by Lee Hipp. He pronounced it "a great horn" and everyone who has ever played it has put themselves on the "call me first" list should I ever want to sell it. (I don't.) I believe Lee once owned one of the first batch, and I bought mine after playing his.

Even so, mine doesn't look any more hand-made than any other Yamaha I've looked at. How would you tell? Does "hand-made" really mean "hand-tweaked"? That I'd be willing to believe. The outer branches were in production for other horns for a long time before the F came out--they are certainly not hand-made, and the rest of it comprises stock parts.
