I played on a 5J that a guy in college I knew had picked up in circa 1995. I thought the horn was a good sounding horn easy to play in the upper and middle register good response and excellent intonation. The main problem with the horn for me was that it didn't have a projection quality like the Mirafone I was used to (188-5U), and the low register took a lot of work to manuever in and it started to sound a little to much like a cimbasso when a lot of valves were put down. With that being said, I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good quintet BBb ar small ensemble BBb that is very easy to play.
