What I used to tell my beginning students who were trying to play high or higher is to: to make
the aperture (hole) of the embouchure smaller, use faster narrower stream of air and sometimes
to point the air stream more downward. AND I would do that on the mouthpiece only, then on
the horn. I feel that for young players most embouchure problems can be fixed easier when you
take the mouthpiece off of the horn. Sirens work great for teaching that also.
