I love my 2145! I play primarily in small ensembles, quintets, brass bands and concert bands and it works great for those situations. It is a smaller horn but projects beautifully like a larger horn would. I have never experienced the intonation problems like the post before this one but I have always used a large shank mp with it. I would say that it may be a bit small for orchestral work. If I were looking into horns going into college I would look at the 2145 and 2155, and the Miraphone 186 and 188.
