Point well taken. I guess I meant prmitive by today's standard. However, the horns did cut well to the middle of the hall where most early stereo mikes were placed. I have played a King model like Bells and the Meinl copy. Both were incredibly efficient horns, easy to blow and control over the range of dynamics. I can see why they liked them.
