I believe that the newest version of miraphones have got a great
sound that you also have a lot o control over. They're not too
enormous, where you have no control, like on some Yorkbrunners.
In other words, they're perfect for students like me until we
can find a niche. Also they have a very solid sound and can
easily support the orchestra without having to play an enormous
horn (i.e. the 186 CC is a 4/4 horn). The F horns play absolutely
beautifully, there is basically no substitute for a Miraphone F.
My teacher uses a 186 CC and an F to play professionally in a
full time major orchestra and you simply can't beat the sound
that it makes.
