As far as the appearance on stage goes, people are not used to seeing more than one of those big appliances up there at a time, but as a practical matter, I agree with Mr. Becker about moving over to the bass tuba for the oxcart solo. Realize that it is quite common for trumpeters, flautists, oboists, clarinetists, et al have extra armaments tucked underneath their chairs to use on certain passages.

unsolicited but: Has anyone else who owns a B&S F tuba noticed how nicely the high G# in this solo pops out (in tune and secure) when played using just the fifth valve (long whole step slide)?
