Hi,
If you're at all serious about becoming a good tuba player, I would suggest you go find a tuba teacher and get some lessons. It is much more difficult to break bad habits, than it is to not start with any. A private teacher, even once a month (It can be expensive), will help you get a firm foundation of basics. He/she will not only give you good habits, but will make you a better player more quickly. Find the best teacher that you can afford. It might be a good idea to go to your lesson with some goals in mind of what you want to accomplish, from getting a better sound to winning your schools concerto night. Your local college is a great place to start. Good luck!
