I have always greatly admired Ev Gilmore (Dallas Symphony, retired). He gave me private lessons when I was a beginner and I remember everything he taught me. I only wish I could play my tuba today a fraction as well as he ever did. The lessons he did teach me help me everyday. I also like that he had the guts to play his Mirafone BBb (NOT CC)during his tenure, and quite well, too. That is my un-sung hero. Me? I play a Mirafone 186 5U BBb all the time.
