The HB21 has a shorter leadpipe than the HB2P. I have played both and feel that the HB2P's longer leadpipe makes it more of a German style of horn - more resistance to blow against, perhaps a slightly smaller sound, but with more color and texture to the sound.

I've only played a model21 for a few minutes, but found it to be more like my Yorkbrunner in terms of its American style: less resistance, more sound, but less range of timbre.

I haven't tried the HB2P with large bore valves at BBC, so I don't have any idea what that particular horn is like, but it does have the longer leadpipe, so it will be somewhat more Germanic than the HB21, I expect.
