When I was in charge of instruments in Cal Band at UC, we had tuba player who switched from trumpet to tuba, for whole season he played his same horn, kinda pinched and stuffy, we all thought it was due to trumpet playing till I tried the horn,a Besson sousaphone. It was stuffy, so we snaked it and flushed it with water, but nothing came out. So we took it to our loacl repairman who but a heavy ball in the horn at the tuning slide.
Well, quite the surprise when he knocked a full bottle of beer out of the horn. I guess the tubas were one bottle short of a six pack at one game.
