The new bass clef Arban is COMPLETE, unlike the Mantia version. I do not totally remember what was missing in the Mantia--I know the duets were not in it, and another section or two... Someone else may remember. ALSO, the Mantia version is notorious for containing errors--these are corrected in the new Arban.

As far as the trumpet book, I think it is comparable to the new Arban, besides the clef, of course.

I would say... If you read both clefs equally well, get the trumpet book to save some $$$. If you read bass, get the new book... IF you (or a student) read treble, and CANT read bass... Get the new book and learn bass clef. If it is the player's desire to be a proficient enough player to "complete" the Arban book, he/she should know both clefs anyway....
