Once I've played one of the new "Besson" C tubas (Army conference in January, etc.), if I liked it I think I would try to "memorize" it's playing characteristics. I believe then I would wait for one of these (pictured) extremely similar older B&M (Nirschl, etc.) C tubas to be offered at a great price and then play and compare.
