Rick is right, CC's and BBb's sound about the same, it all depends on what works for you. I was a BBb player for 30+ years before I tried a CC and found that it was more right for me than any BBb. I've been playing a CC now for 3 years and I know that using a CC as my main horn is the right choice for me. Also, remember that there is no hard and fast decision needed. Learn to play horns in other keys and keep your options open. I still play my BBb Sousy and a very cool old B&H Eb, and my daughter insists that I play a BBb when we play duets. Go figure!
