Bruce Broughton asked me to post this in response to some earlier questions regarding the new orchestration of his Concerto.It appears to be a fairly standard (smallish) orchestra and should make it reasonable to produce. ......Jim
From Mr. Broughton....the instrumentation is as follows:
2 Fl (2nd doubles picc.); 2 Ob (2nd doubles EH); 2 Cl. (2nd doubles Bs. Cl.); 2 Bsns (2nd doubles CBsn); 4 Hns; 2 Tpts; 3 Trbs; Timp.; 2 Perc., Harp; Pno (doubles Cel.); Strings.
The editor at Kalmus told me the piece would be available in about three weeks. As to whether it's available for sale or only for rental, I really don't know. It's worth asking about, however.
