I would not for a moment disagree with the essence of your post, but I do feel that it is important to employ a certain degree of analysis to improve any skill. You can enjoy music greatly, but we must be able to develop the skills to allow us to express our inner feelings, or we will not be able to fully express them with others.

I think this belies the difference between approaching music as a passive listener versus as an active performer (I believe to be good musicians we must do both).
