Check out the AKG 419. It is a clip on hypercardiod condenser mic. It needs phantom power but it sounds gteat. I have used them as sweetener mics on trumpets, trombone, and tuba when recording brass quintets. I own 4 of them. It comes in two versions, one with a mini plug designed to work with with a belt transmitter and one that comes with an XLR connectordesigned for situations where you can use wire. These mics have a wonderful sound and the cost is about $200. Musicians Friend has them and at one time Brass and Woodwind had them.Good luck,
