I've been playin a Willson euph for several years. I started on a 51D and then moved to a Dennis Wick 3M. One of my fellow euphonium players uses a Doug Elliot which I have ever tried. I was wondering; my M3 goes in to my horn a good bit. Would custom fitting a doug elliot shank to my horn make any difference, or is the Dennis Wick supposed to go in that far? Seems like it would effect intonation and response. I like the sound and feel I get with my Wick. But it makes me wonder if I'm cheating myself. Thanks.
