There are many methods for producing vibrato on a tuba.

I like to keep the fluctuations in pitch inbetween 5-7 per second, regardless of the method of production. This is considered the natural variation that occurs in healthy vocal production among classical singers. Studies have shown that regardless of the style, audiences hear vibrato slower than this as a "wobble" and faster as a goat-like "bleat". Earlier 20th century audiences did, however, have a preference for vibrato on the fast side of this spectrum while modern audiences usually prefer a slower rate.
