I attended U of I before you and Gary Smith. Everett Kissinger put in a script Illini formation much as you mention above, but two of our sousaphones were used to dot the two "i"s. Being low brass (class?) we then claimed we were twice as good as the buckeyes. Weelll maybe the Marching Illini, certainly not the "Fighting" Illini.
