i really like the 2145 - for the way i play, i have found it to be a pleasure to play in terms of tone, response, pitch, projection, etc. I have used it in everything from groups such as proteus 7, rhythm & brass, burning river brass, thru the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops Esplenade Orchestras, and found that it has worked very well FOR ME...

...definitely worth a trip to a tuba mecca such as Baltimore Brass (Dave Fedderly has always been a joy to do business with) or Dillon's or Brasswind depending on proximity. If you are smart and open about it, you will find the right horn - certainly how it worked for me when I picked out my 2145 in Baltimore (and I was hoping to by a Conn)
