In the '70's, rotors were the big fad. Piston valves were corny. In the 90's and beyond, its pistons - particularly if one rotor is tacked on. (That way, your tuba can be just like the CSO York.)
Which tuba is the easiest to play in tune and which tuba "speaks" with your voice?
If you think rotary valves aren't as fast as pistons - or visa-versa...
