If your playing includes groups significantly larger than quintet, then (unless you have a BIG sound) I would suggest picking a 4/4 size horn as a good compromise. If you are only playing quintet, the 3/4 Rudy CC would be very nice. But a 4/4 horn of most brands / shapes should not be too large for quintet, and would do better in a larger group.

Of course, you could buy the 3/4 and the 5/4, and then have the best of both worlds! But, if money must be considered, then a compromise may be in order. A 4/4 for quintet use is not too much of a compromise (unless, again, you're a player with a BIG sound -- then go with the 3/4 and play louder in the larger groups).
