If you had gotten a Hirsbrunner mouthpiece with that instrument, it would most likely have been a Hirsbrunner M-1, made by Bruno Tilz in Germany, who is located very near the Rudolf Meinl factory. I do not believe that Custom Music imports stock Hirsbrunner mouthpieces any more. This mouthpiece was also the old-style Perantucci 1, which is still available as a Rudolf Meinl M-1. It is a large-enough mouthpiece to produce the volume needed for virtually any ensemble, but since it is of a lighter-weight construction than the current Perantucci line, I think you would find it to be more agile, particularly in solo and small ensemble situations.
