Not completely sure what you mean by best low range. I actually kinda prefer a nice 'lean' elegant focused response in the low register. It might take a bit more finesse but the color pallette is more interesting and you can take more of a scalpal approach rather than a sledge hammer approach to the music.

When it comes to low register most folks just want a horn that blows easy and makes big noises... Which makes me extremely surprised no one has mentioned the HB-21. 2/4 effort in 6/4 sound out in the low range. First time I played one I frightened myself with the enormity of the sound. It makes me question how well balanced the horn really is. I'm sure it's fine but if anyone would like to loan one to me for a little while I might be able to form a more coherent opinion. A couple years would do the trick.
