I'm in the middle of two projects: a 20's Holton monster Eb fitted with an old King 2341 valve section (plus a fifth rotor) and a Conn monster Eb from the teens to be fitted with a Meinl-Weston 2165 valve section (plus a fifth rotor). The Holton is on its way - currently the slides are being measured and cut to proper lengths; the Conn is still pending. I, too, have always wondered of the possibilities of a 6/4 size Eb (indeed inspired from Roger, since I studied with him as a teenager).
I'll keep the board informed when there's something to report. Btw, my main Eb is a Willson, which is a superb instrument for all kinds of applications but definitely NOT a 6/4 instrument.
We'll see how they turn out.....
