IMO, piston horns are harder on the ulnar nerves than a good rotary, but of course it all depends on how tight your springs are. PT Pistons will have a much longer throw than the cerveny.
As far as the price on the piggy, I have seen piggies go for as little as $1500 on ebay, not much of a market for rotary tubas right now. I haven't seen one sell for more than $2500 in a long time. How old is yours? The older ones, (pre-1990) tand to go for a little more, especially if the buyer doesn't have the chance to play them first. Too much quality control problems after 1990.
I also agree with the poster than you should keep your piggy, there is not enough difference in the sound between the two horns to justify the difference in cost, unless you are dying for a 5 valve tuba.
