Thanks for making the image available. I have jokingly presupposed that this would be a third-rate baritone, but of course I've never played, heard, or seen one. I am really intrigued by the fact that Conn would use such a high quality bell on the beast, but not a fourth valve. Is there a slide kicker? Also, is the sound a typical valve trombone sound, or does it (as I've supposed) more closely resemble a Brit baritone? I've long been on record as not caring for the sound of any valve trombone I've heard, but that's just my own personal taste (helped along by 30 years playing slide trombone ;).

In any case, it's a very interesting instrument. If you would like to have it field tested at altitude, I would be glad to take it to Clingman's dome and perform the test, as Rick says, "slowly".

Joe Baker, who would, naturally, perform numerous 'control' tests, as well.
