I used to think Marching screwed up my chops. Now I think it can depending on how you do it. If you go out there trying to blast away at every note your sounds gonna go down the poop shoot pretty fast. I belive if you concentrate on using air and not on sounding blatty you project more, sound better and don't bust your chops. Try not to force the sound. Sure you'd be better of not marching, but if you enjoy it and do it correctly the damage will be minimal as long as you keep up your normal practice routine (assuming you have one).
