Germany of the period in question had immense numbers of smaller local/regional factories and workshops. Going to the right local archive most certainly would reveal a lot on the topic. If one can read the "Gothisher Handschrift" (Gothic handwriting). I learned to read the printed letters. The handwriting is beyond me and most other people.
I am sure your seach would be fruitful, if you put some real hard effort in it.
