Scott----I have played 2nd on BAT and F tuba, especially to match the F tuba usually played by the first player. When I have played first I have always preferred to have the 2nd do this as well. Then past that I have played the opening low F on F tuba and had the second player play the first's upper F. This was a trick that I learned from Floyd Cooley in preparing the Rite. As one post said, the BAT is better on 2nd for the last page.
