As fas as I am familiar with the B&H model naming system, a 3 valve (and for that matter also a 4 valve) Imperial BBb tuba will always be compensating. The quite narrow receiver/leadpipe can be dissscussed. As can the lack of the 4th valve. And the not too wide bell.

It is not the BBb with the largest imaginable sound, and it should not be pushed too hard. But with a good mouthpiece (the Denis Wick #1, specifically the non-L version) one gets a quite flexible "super-sized" euphonium.

Depending on the state of especially the valve wear the deal could be very good, and that even in US$.
