The "injustice" thread led me to create this one.
Of those of you who make a considerable amount of your income from various forms of musical endeavor (or accountancy), please share what truthful jewels you may have about the realities of the bidness. Items like taxes and deductions, how to get students to pay you, what you can consider business expenses (the ones we might not normally think of), marketing, developing and maintaining a studio, etc. are what I am looking for.
Please do not suggest sending Freddie the Fixer to the student's house to collect payment.
Let's see what they're NOT teaching us in college...
