Dave, good luck with your new career. We all know it is near impossible to get a full time paying tuba gig. I get so tired of hearing people say there is no money or future as a musician or tuba player. Money is as good as a teachers, still too low, but its there. I may never be good enough to make it into a full time gig...but I am not ready to give up yet. I like being in music. I can make a living doing it and I am not in an orchestra yet. There is a future in music, kids. do it if you want. I hope I win a gig someday...but if I don't, I can still play my tuba and pay my bills with the money I get from doing it.
