I might be too late for this thread but I finally figured out which horn you were talking about after seeing one on ebay. This model came out a few years ago and was originally marketed as a King. The lines between King and Conn are so blurred these days it's hard to tell one from another.

A local music dealer brought one of these horns to me to play a couple of years ago. A school ordered it and the director complained loudly about the intonation once it came in. The dealer wanted me to play it to see if the director was full of beans. The director was right; the pitch was awful. So was the response, sound and the general construction of the horn. It was a good idea gone bad.
