Walter Hartley's Tuba Rose Polka is a great piece to pick up the recital pace. It's not too very fast, but it packs a heck of a punch and the lines and licks are (for once in Hartley's life) very sensetive to the fact that IT'S A TUBA!! Add to that the piece isn't harmonically complex so the audience isn't bombarded with wierd sounds that they think are just noise.
I'd also go with the Carnival movement of the Effie Suite to end whatever combination of movements I choose.
