Having been in the printed-music business for twenty-two years, I can tell you that there never was a tuba edition of Arban's. I brought a copy of the aforementioned Arban/Prescott to my first lesson with Jake (circa 1957) and he politely told me to get the trombone/baritone version.
I now own a copy of the W. Jacobs book and, personally, find it quite useful.
