I agree with Steve on this one. You should go to a school that best suits your needs. I know no kidding right??I went to a small college for my undergrad studies and I couldn't have chosen a better place. Because of the size I played in the brass ensemble, the brass quintet, the orchestra, and the wind ensemble. Not to mention playing bass in the jazz band and the combos. There were other tuba players there but I really got the chance to play in everything and it really opened up my playing. In my last 2 years there when I felt my studio teacher and I had done all we could I supplemented my studies with some trips to San Francisco with Mr. Cooley. Fortunatley for me the last year I was there the college hired an incredible player and teacher Craig Knox. I graduated high school an average tuba player but left college a much better musician because of all the performances. For me that was best...
