Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am about to purchase a "classic" Alexander 4/4 CC tuba, four valves, unlacquered. The instrument plays beautifully. The instrument belonged to a dear friend of mine, Frank Barzyk, who was the wonderful Australian tubist of the Zurich Opera who unfortunately passed away at a young age in 1999. His wife is ready to sell the instrument and we would like to agree on an absolute fair value. It was built in 1977 or 1978 and was origionally purchased by Peter Sykes (then tubist with the Melbourne Symphony) in 1979. He sold it later to Frank Barzyk while Frank was tubist with the opera orchestra in Melbourne. If anybody could give me an idea on the fair value of this instrument, or somebody to contact in this regard, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you
Steve Rosse steve(AT)tubamania.com.au
