PS: My name is out of another old naming habit: Bjerre is derivated from bjerg, not too different from German Berg. Making my name meaning out of the farm on the hill or out of the village on the hill. Hence the -sen (-son) practice has not been used in my paternal family for about 350 years.

My middle name Smedegaard means the farm or the yard of the blacksmith.

My maternal grandparents were born Hans Hansen and Karen Sørensen. Even if Karen made an attempt to get a foothold in the USA, and even if I were raised in Germany, I am as Danish as it ever comes. You will have to live with that. And with this longish digression.
