It doesn't matter a whole lot why he's doing what he's doing; he doesn't fit in the B5T any more, and you have to find a new player. You can do it nicely, just telling him you're sorry he can't do the time any more, and he'll be welcome back at a later date if his teacher changes his requirements. Then go find someone else, fast.
